Have you ever wished that making that final decision wasn’t so hard? Why after doing all of the research do, you still feel unsure? What do you think is the thing that is holding you back from biting the bullet, make the decision? Think about what is the worst thing that could happen if you decide, versus not deciding at all? WHAT IS A DECISION? The best kind of decisions we make is where the action of that decision has a positive outcome for ourselves and other people. Of course, we all know that life is about making a whole bunch of bad decisions that hopefully we learn and grow from. It is this failures or mistakes that make us anxious about making future decisions. The ‘what-if’s’ come charging in and all of a sudden we are doubting our common sense, worried that we don’t have enough information, find a hindered ways of procrastinating or hand ball the decision to someone else. Let’s dig a bit into procrastination. Are someone who puts things off? A lot? Most of us delay something at some time. Paying a bill, answering a call putting things off is a very frequent behaviour with people. Procrastination is putting things off on steroids. It is an unnecessary (and stress inducing) behaviour that postpones an inevitable decision or action that will have to be done. We procrastinate because the outcome is stressing us out, making us anxious, we worry we will fail, it is boring or challenging. We get it has to be done and yet we chuck it in the too hard or not now basket, secretly hoping someone will do it for us… or even it might go away!
